This month, Semyon Bychkov returns to conduct both the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic, both Orchestras with whom he toured Europe earlier this season.
On 11 and 12 May in Amsterdam, Bychkov conducts the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet and the Letter Scene from Eugene Onegin with soloist Kristine Opolais as well as Rachmaninov’s Zdes khorosho from the 12 Romances and his Symphonic Dances. On 13 May, Bychkov and the Orchestra perform the same programme at the Semperoper Dresden as part of the Dresden Music Festival.
At the end of the month on 26 May, Semyon Bychkov conducts the Vienna Philharmonic for their famous Summer Night Concert at the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. He is joined by Katia and Marielle Labèque for a programme which will feature music Bizet, Poulenc and Ravel.
