May sees Maestro Bychkov return to conduct the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra in Mahler and Khachaturian (4-5 May), the Berlin Philharmonic in Shostakovich and Strauss (12-14 May), and the Munich Philharmonic in Berlioz, Mahler and Tchaikovsky including a performance in Italy as part of the Ravenna Festival (26-28 May; 2-3 June).
Before making his way to London for his annual visit to the Royal Academy of Music to conduct their student orchestra on 22 June in Mahler’s 2nd Symphony at the Royal Festival Hall, Bychkov returns to the Czech Republic one last time this season to conduct an all Tchaikovsky programme at the Rudolfinum in Prague from 7-9 June followed by a performance on 16 June as part of the Smetana’s Litomyšl International Opera Festival.
