This summer, Semyon Bychkov returns to the 2017 BBC Proms for two performances with the BBC Symphony Orchestra: on 6 August, he conducts Mussorgsky’s epic Khovanshchina, and at the end of the month on 31 August, music by Taneyev, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony. Decca are due to release Bychkov’s recording of the Manfred Symphony with the Czech Philharmonic as part of their ongoing Tchaikovsky Project a few days earlier on 25 August.
