Semyon Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic embark on their first tour together of 2019 to Germany and Belgium. Starting in Essen on 1 February, they travel to Bruges (2 February), Hamburg (4 February), Frankfurt (5 February), Dusseldorf (6 February), Nuremberg (7 February) and Hannover (8 February). Performing Tchaikovsky’s First Symphony and Dvorak’s New World Symphony, they will also be joined by soloist Jan Lisiecki for Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2.
On returning to Prague, Bychkov and the Orchestra will be joined by Kirill Gerstein to perform and record Tchaikovsky’s Second (20-22 February) and Third (13-15 February) Piano Concertos. The recordings will form part of Semyon Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic’s “Tchaikovsky Project” which will be released as a boxset on Decca Classics at the end of August this year.
