Following a successful Tchaikovsky Project residency back home in Prague, Semyon Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic this autumn embark on further Tchaikovsky residencies in Tokyo, Vienna and Paris. Forming part of a larger Far East Tour starting on 17 October in Taipei, the Tokyo Tchaikovsky residency concerts take place on 22, 24 and 25 October at Suntory Hall, Bunkyo Civic Hall and NHK Hall. Elsewhere in Japan, Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic give concerts in Nagoya, Yokohama, Osaka and Kumamoto.
In addition to works by Tchaikovsky, audiences in Japan will also get to hear Smetana’s Má vlast which Bychkov will lead the Czech Philharmonic for the very first time in Prague from 9-11 October. Bychkov conducted his first ever Má vlast at the beginning of the year in Cologne, followed by performances in Hamburg, Madrid, Cleveland, Munich and Amsterdam.
