On Monday 19 September, Semyon Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic present the first of three performances of the opera at the 2022 Dvořák Prague International Music Festival. Rusalka is the first opera that Semyon Bychkov will conduct with the Czech Philharmonic and, with the exception of Jenůfa which he conducted at Maggio Musicale in Florence 30 years ago, the first Czech opera that he has conducted. Later this season Bychkov will conduct Covent Garden’s new production of Rusalka which, as in Prague, features Asmik Grigorian in the title role.
The performance on Monday night will also be live streamed on Czech Radio Vltava.
