This October, the French television company Mezzo TV will cast a spotlight on Czech Philharmonic past performances with Semyon Bychkov. Broadcasting in 80 countries with a community of over 57 million subscribers, Mezzo TV will repeat broadcasts of three concerts recorded over the last two years for its two channels Mezzo and Mezzo Live HD. These include programmes featuring Mahler’s Symphony No. 9, music by Berio & Dvořák and works by Smetana & Martinů.
The Czech Philharmonic’s 125th season opening concert conducted by Semyon Bychkov will also be available on demand throughout October and November on both Mezzo TV channels – click here for more information. The concert from last month on 24 September featured Shostakovich’s First Piano Concerto with soloists Daniil Trifonov and Selina Ott, and Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony.
Live music continues in the Czech Republic this month with Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic presenting their opening subscription concerts with music by Mozart and Beethoven from 7-9 October. A few days earlier, they perform more Shostakovich and Dvořák at the closing gala of the 2020 International Music Festival Český Krumlov on 3 October.
