The Royal Academy of Music today announced that they will confer an honorary doctorate to Semyon Bychkov, the Academy’s Klemperer Chair of Conducting and an Honorary Member since 2016. The awards ceremony will take place this July, a month after Bychkov conducts the Royal Academy of Music Student Orchestra in Mahler’s Third Symphony at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Academy’s bicentenary celebrations on 23 June.
