For the opening subscription concerts of the 126th season, Semyon Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic present six performances of Mahler’s mighty Ninth Symphony in Prague from 27-29 October and 4-6 November.
Following recording sessions of Mahler’s First Symphony earlier in the month as part of Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic’s ongoing focus on Mahler’s symphonic works, the Ninth will also be recorded at this time for future release.
Bychkov’s most recent podcast interview for Aktuálně.cz in which he reflects on both his relationship to date with the Czech Philharmonic and interpreting Mahler, is available to listen to here now.
